Since 1974, redevelopment efforts and public private partnerships have fostered the emergence of a modern industrial park in Wilmington.
The Wilmington Industrial Park enjoys a rare and dynamic business location, along the leading edge of the Pacific Rim, in the heart of the vigorous Los Angles Harbor.
The park is at the center of present and future growth, strengthened by redevelopment and state tax incentive programs, energetic grass roots support and a ready and able work force.
Thirty-one new developments have been completed, providing approximately 887,000 s.f. of floor area.
The private sector has invested more than $37.5 million, creating 1420 new jobs. The Community Redevelopment Agency has spent more than $10 million to prepare the infrastructure needed.
New roads were built to industrial standards; new sidewalks, curbs and gutters; storm drains, sewers and utility systems were constructed in order to provide a new economic and employment base within the Wilmington community.
These improvements have transformed a former oil field and underutilized wasteland into industrial headquarters for more than 75 businesses.
